For Allied Health Professionals
The Program aims to reach out to all bereaved parents, families and friends who experience the loss of their own baby or a baby close to them. By making the program available to all bereaved parents, families and friends and by creating pregnancy & infant loss awareness, educating the community and supporting the allied health professionals to ensure we meet bereaved families needs.
The program is the original bear giving program in Australia and has been operating Australia wide since 2002. The program is based around the offering of traditional teddy bears to bereaved parents whilst in hospital, as a gentle gesture of comfort and understanding before having to leave the hospital with such empty arms. The program provides many other services such as professional counselling, free call 1800 number, comprehensive resource pack, support groups, online support, monthly newspaper, memorial events and much more.
There is no cost at all to provide the program, we supply the complete care package including Teddy bears, Resource Packs and Support Brochures free.
We ask you to offer our complete care packages including the gesture of giving bereaved families a teddy bear, to provide ongoing support & understanding to families that experience the loss of their baby.
