2009 Memorial Walkathon

Teddy Love Club's first memorial Walkathon was held on Sunday May 3rd 2009 at the TLC Memorial Benches in North Adelaide. We are so pleased to let you know the day was such a wonderful success and so special in memory of all the precious babies little lost lives.

Around 300 people joined us to walk which was simply overwhelming. It was so wonderful to see all the families and friends walking in honour of their babies or a baby close to them. Many really got into the spirit with making their own special t-shirts and some of our walkers also had angel wings on their backs which looked so pretty.

The balloon release was the highlight of the day with 300 balloons being released, it was lovely ( and emotional) to watch them fly away into the beautiful clear sky.

We have had such wonderful feedback regarding the day and we welcome anyone that attended to also give us their thoughts. We will definately be making this an annual event. We look forward to you joining us again next year.

Thank you so much to everyone that came along and made the day just so special. Trudi, Trinity and myself were just amazed at the turnout and we really do feel so privileged to know you all.

For those participants that haven't returned your sponsorship money, their is still time!!! Please return the funds by the 14th of May. Once this is done the announcement will be made as to who has won the fantastic holiday to Kangaroo Island. Please also ensure you return your sponsorship forms as we will need to issue receipts to those donors that would like them for taxation reasons. Please see banking detailes below.

The walkathon has not only proved to be a memorable day for TLC but it has also been a great fundraiser, we anticipate funds raised will be around $15,000. This is a wonderful achievement and certainly will ensure the program can continue to provide the many services to bereaved parents around Australia.
